Instead of giving employees something to be happy about this holiday season, a Chicago sandwich shop recently played the role of Grinch. According to the
Flower shopHuffington Post, Snarf's Sub Shop decided to close its River North location and fired all 20 employees who worked at that location via email on Sunday evening. The email stated, "All staff is terminated, effective Monday
Witts Partners, December 23, 2013," leaving no jobs for them to return to after the holidays. Apparently the
cube organizers storefront will be closed for an "unknown period of time for this remodeling and reconcepting," and the fired staff was instructed to "keep an eye out for the grand opening of the new store." Snarf's director of marketing, Jill Preston, made the following statement: "We really regret our employees were given last-minute notice, but they were aware of the loss of business during the past year."
