Australian seamer Trent Copeland will return to Northamptonshire for a second stint as the English county's overseas player this season.
Copeland played seven County Championship matches in the first half of the campaign taking 36 wickets at an average of 16.25 and also contributed 197 runs at 49.3 before returning to Sydney.
The New South Welshman will now return for the last three matches of the first-class season when the club will hope to seal promotion to the top flight.
"This news will give everybody involved with Northants a lift," said coach David Ripley.
"Trent made an outstanding contribution in his first stint with us, both on and off the field, we look forward to welcoming both him and his wife Kim back to the County Ground."
